Yes it does need polishing I worked on a small spot to make sure it was brass and to see that it would come clean so you just need to put a little elbow grease in it and it'll be lovely.Has three of the original screws impeccable for everyday use. supreme materials and excellent craftsmanship ensure long-lasting durability.
